Report summary
The institution conducts regular self-evaluations for the Nursing and Health Promotion programmes, which demonstrates its commitment to improving the quality of higher education. However, certain shortcomings have been identified in the self-evaluation reports as they lack in-depth assessment, evaluation and concrete findings that would serve as a basis for further improvement. The Nursing programme has an excellent mentoring system that supports the clinical education of students in a high-quality manner. In addition, the programme actively follows international trends and innovations in the profession and successfully combines the study objectives with the expected competences of graduates. The institution offers very good material conditions, both in terms of premises and equipment, which also contributes to supporting a quality educational environment. The active participation of students in the institution's international scientific conference, in which they participate together with the lecturers, has a positive impact on their academic and professional engagement. On the other hand, the Health Promotion programme is characterised by an excessive amount of individual study work. It is therefore recommended that the proportion of contact hours be increased, which could contribute to greater interaction between students and lecturers and a better understanding of the content. Certain problems are also evident in the delivery of lectures and seminars, as these are often led by lecturers who are not sufficiently qualified for the level of the programme. In addition, the programme includes experts who come from an academic background but have no direct practical experience, which reduces the link between theory and practice. Another problem is the low academic activity of the participating teachers, especially in the health promotion programme, and the lack of appropriate bibliographic references in the curricula. Staff often do not indicate institutional affiliation when publishing scientific papers, which reduces the visibility and reputation of the institution in the scientific community. Despite these shortcomings, the institution promotes student employability through events such as careers fairs and conferences, demonstrating that it recognises the importance of linking education and the world of work. In addition, the institution should develop a comprehensive staff supervision and development policy that ensures the quality of teaching and research work in the long term. -
