Report summary
During the review process, the panel of experts prepared a final report based on the institution’s response and established that the higher education institution has successfully addressed the key non-conformities identified in the initial report and implemented several targeted improvements ensuring compliance with the NAKVIS Standards. At the same time, the panel identified opportunities for further enhancement, particularly in the areas of up-to-date literature, inclusion of students with special needs, and strengthening of the internal academic staff base. In the initial report, a misalignment between the programme objectives, competences, and course syllabi was identified. In its response, the institution carried out a comprehensive alignment of course syllabi with the defined programme competences, which the expert panel confirmed as appropriate. The revised syllabi now clearly link intended learning outcomes to competences and ensure both horizontal and vertical coherence of contents. The non-conformity was therefore removed, as consistency between course-level outcomes, the graduate competence profile, and programme objectives has been established. The initial report also identified the absence of external elective options (10 ECTS). The institution revised the curriculum and now allows the transfer of 12 ECTS from other higher education programmes, thereby exceeding the minimum requirements of the NAKVIS Standards. The standard is now fully met and the non-conformity withdrawn. The course Practical Training in the Work Environment was previously assessed as methodologically inadequate due to the lack of defined contact hours with mentors and unclear links with programme objectives. The institution revised the course syllabus, clearly defined cooperation with mentors and course-specific competences, and reduced the projected number of enrolled students, thereby ensuring an appropriate ratio between students and available placements. The expert panel confirms compliance with the Standards; hence, the non-conformity has been removed. Previously, the course on Artificial Intelligence in the Business Environment was mainly theoretical and did not ensure the expected competences in the practical application of AI. The institution has thoroughly updated the course, introducing laboratory exercises, more concrete learning outcomes, and practical components such as the use of the ChatGPT API. The panel concludes that this revision eliminates the content-related shortcoming, and therefore the previous improvement opportunity has been resolved. In the initial report, it was noted that the faculty library did not provide sufficient access to compulsory literature (only 41% of required items were available). Following the corrective action, the institution has procured all 20 missing core references, ensuring full accessibility of required literature. The non-conformity has thus been resolved. The lack of a permanently employed academic staff member in the field of informatics remains an opportunity for improvement. Although the institution has adopted a plan to establish a permanent position, its implementation has not yet been completed. The expert panel considers that the planned measure adequately addresses this issue, which will be reviewed at the next evaluation cycle. 6 While most course syllabi have been updated, the panel recommends further supplementation with relevant textbooks published within the past five years, particularly for courses such as Artificial Intelligence in the Business Environment and Management Support Systems. The programme is appropriately adapted for students with physical disabilities; however, specific provisions for other types of impairments (e.g. sensory or cognitive) are not defined. The panel recommends that the institution publish detailed information on the available accommodations (e.g. extended examination time, alternative learning materials, or study assistance) on its website. The institution is encouraged to expedite the employment of a full-time academic staff member in informatics, which will support the sustainable development of the field, enable the implementation of research projects, and foster student involvement in professional and research activities. The panel of experts concludes that the institution has implemented all key corrective measures required in the initial report and has thereby eliminated all major nonconformities with the NAKVIS Standards. The programme structure is coherent, contents are aligned with objectives, admission requirements are formalized, course syllabi have been updated, literature is accessible, practical training is methodologically sound, and conditions for a high-quality and inclusive study experience are ensured. The remaining opportunities for improvement are developmental in nature and do not affect compliance with the Standards. They represent directions for continuous quality enhancement, particularly regarding the regular updating of literature, modernisation of didactic approaches, and strengthening of the staff base. -
