Report summary
The study programme "Development of Video Games and Extended Realities" is modularly designed with clearly interconnected learning units. It emphasizes technical-creative interdisciplinarity, where artistic subjects support technical objectives. The programme includes practical work, industry collaboration, and project-based learning. Competences develop vertically, and the content is aligned with the objectives and labour market needs. The study programme is appropriately situated within its academic discipline and field, offering comprehensive foundational and advanced knowledge oriented towards practical application and research. It is aligned with current development trends, includes practical training in cooperation with local partners, and promotes innovative teaching methods. Flexibility and stakeholder involvement support continuous content updates and ensure high employability of graduates. The proposer has an extensive network of national and international partners in scientific, professional, and artistic fields, with whom it also collaborates in the development of the study programme. The programme is based on an in-depth analysis of employability and labour market needs in Slovenia and Europe. Practical training is systematically organized and involves several companies. The implementation design of the programme matches its content, objectives, and type of study. Various teaching formats are foreseen (lectures, tutorials, consultations, practical training), including blended (hybrid) delivery using ICT. Adequate staffing and material resources are ensured renowned experts are involved, and appropriate facilities and equipment are available, including access to a supercomputer. The conditions for study and programme components are clearly defined and publicly available, enabling the enforcement of rights and fulfilment of responsibilities for all stakeholders. The admission criteria comply with legal regulations. Assessment, progression, and transitions are appropriately regulated. The programme meets quality standards. Although no partial or major inconsistencies were identified in the initial report, the proposer prepared a detailed response in which, over 21 pages, they described how all suggested improvement measures were implemented. In addition, the proposer submitted the decisions of the relevant bodies that officially approved these changes. For the purpose of possible future verification, not all proposed improvements were removed; short-term ones were omitted, such as the number of enrolment places, the agreement with a major multimedia company, and the higher admission requirements. However, we did not remove substantive recommendations for improvement whose realization can only be evaluated after several years of implementing the study programme. On the one hand, this demonstrates the considerable effort of the proposer; on the other hand, it allows future reaccreditations to monitor how these proposals have been implemented in practice -
