A group of experts conducted a sample assessment of the unified master's study program Dental Medicine and Medicine. The Faculty of Medicine was founded on October 2, 2003. Since then, 1,349 students have graduated. In addition to the Medicine program, the Biomedical Technology doctoral program was launched in 2005. So far, 172 doctors of science have completed the program. This also increases the faculty's teaching staff. In the 2021/22 academic year, the first generation of 20 Dental Medicine students enrolled. The management has the following vice-deans: for educational activities (Prof. Dr. Radovan Hojs) for postgraduate studies (Prof. Dr. Pavel Skok), for research activities (Prof. Dr. Samo Karl Fokter), for international cooperation (Prof. Dr. Faris Mujezinović), for dental medicine (Prof. Dr. Jernej Završnik), for pharmacy (Acting Prof. Dr. Uroš Maver) and the vice-dean for student affairs of the Faculty of Medicine (Enej Vidovič). The faculty consists of 43 departments (of which 37 are general medicine and 6 are dental medicine), 12 institutes and two centres: the Simulation Centre and the Centre for Human Genetics and Pharmacogenomics. The faculty has a total of 536 teachers, of which 69 are full-time and 467 are contract staff. 31 colleagues are employed in professional services. Scientific and research work in 2024 includes: 8 ARIS programmes, 20 ARIS projects, 9 EU projects. The group of experts summarises the findings of the assessment of the standards below: Standard 1: strengths: regular and structured self-evaluation at the programme and faculty level. A system of rewarding the best and measures for the worst-rated performers. The experts identified 7 opportunities for improvement.
