Report summary
The Master's degree programme in Management of Healthcare Organisations lasts two years (120 KT). In the first year, the programme comprises eight compulsory courses, divided into two semesters of 30 KT each, totalling 60 KT. In the second year, the student must complete five compulsory courses and three elective courses, chosen from a choice of eleven courses. The programme provides for 30 part-time places. In evaluating the study programme, the expert group found three significant discrepancy, two in the first standard (the implementation of practices in the work placement and the competences that the study programme will give the graduate) and one in the fifth standard (the graduate's professional title is not in line with the Law on Professional and Scientific Titles). No other dicrepancies were found in the assessment of the other standards. Some opportunities or suggestions for improvement of the curriculum were made to increase the consistency of the curriculum. The expert group considers that the proposed postgraduate programme reflects the needs of the health system, but is not based on a clear theoretical or research basis and on clear needs of the Slovenian health system. Not all the course providers are competent to deliver the courses, given their scientific and professional bibliography. In the search for appropriate solutions, the group of experts proposes certain improvements, in particular in terms of clearer subject-specific competences. The expert group concludes from the faculty Response Report that the applicant has taken into account almost all the opportunities for improvement provided, and has made extensive and reasoned comments on those that it has not taken into account. All identified non-conformities have been addressed by the faculty. It has corrected the curricula and the references of the course providers, edited the documentation of the human resources and prepared a clear and transparent matrix of the vertical and horizontal integration of the courses and the acquired competences. The expert team considers that the study programme »Management of Healthcare Organisations« fulfils the criteria for accreditation and meets all the quality standards assessed. -
