Report summary
The sample evaluation of the master (second-cycle) study programme Social Work showed that the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Work (UL FSD) operates in accordance with the valid Criteria for the accreditation and external evaluation of higher education institutions and study programmmes. UL FSD offers five modules in the assessed study programme, which are looked after by appointed module administrators. Based on the proposal of the environment last year, UL FSD also developed and designed the sixth module, which was supposed to represent an upgrade of the first-cycle studies and enable interdisciplinarity. The module will start to be implemented in the new academic year 2024/2025. The central goal of the master programme Social Work is to upgrade the acquired knowledge and skills for social work in the previous education. The realization of the goal of training male and female students in the basic knowledge, methods, skills and values of social work is based on their knowledge of the compulsory subjects of the program and compulsory subjects of the module, as well as optional subjects. Experts note that the higher education institution still has many opportunities to improve the study programme, which can significantly contribute to the effectiveness and competence of the programme. In the future, UL FSD must strengthen its research activities in the field of social work and attract higher education teachers who come from a clinical environment, as well as students, to research. In response to the evaluation report, the institution, which has carefully examined the proposed opportunities, has already formulated a timeline for their realization. -
