Report summary
The institute offers study programs that educate for employable professions, while providing suitable premises and equipment for the implementation of activities, if not their own, in cooperation with partners. The institute employs eminent researchers, and a good connection with the academic, economic and social environment in the narrower and wider region has also been demonstrated. A formalized process of monitoring study processes and quality assurance based on the ISO standard has been established. Perhaps a more active and systematic approach could be taken to encourage and motivate the scientific research work of employed teachers and researchers, which would lead to a corresponding increase in the number of quality publications and international recognition. A fast and efficient way of resolving possible student complaints has been established, as well as the flexibility of the institution and listening to possible problems. In the interviews with the students, satisfaction with the implementation of practical education was expressed, as well as the desire for practical work as a method of teaching to be present to an even greater extent. The results of the survey on the satisfaction of participants in practical training must be published in a self-evaluation report. Experts suggest that the institute conducts a more detailed analysis of the reasons that hinder students and higher education teachers and associates from entering international mobility. Several library opportunities and partial inconsistencies were also identified: report and plan on library development is missing, the reading rooms in libraries are small or very small, the library is not existent in all locations where the education takes place, the working hours of the library are too modest, so it would be worth extending the working hours of the library and hiring a fulltime qualified librarian. In their response, they comprehensively explained the already implemented and planned measures to realize the identified opportunities. -

Report summary
Alma Mater Europaea - European Centre Maribor has submitted an application to SQAA for an extension of accreditation as a higher education institution, specifically for the accreditation of a new distant unit located at Mariborska cesta 3, Celje. The expert group assessed the institution against all the prescribed standards for renewing the accreditation of a higher education institution (18), with a focus on various aspects directly related to the distant unit in Celje. The results indicate that the institution has adequate physical/spatial accommodations, planned staffing (including teaching and support staff), dedicated laboratories/specialty classrooms, well-organized library facilities, and a student affairs office. However, the expert group has identified areas that require improvement, such as upgrading classroom equipment to higher standards (including ergonomic furniture and computer equipment), adding more study materials to the library, and providing space/room for student activities. -

Report summary
It was recognized that the institute has established a system for monitoring the quality of evaluation of the implementation and updating of the study program. It has been sensed the involvement of all key stakeholders in the quality monitoring system. They also strive for continuous quality improvement by involving international experts in the process of updating the study program. The possibility of improvement was proposed by establishing a systematic recording of proposals for the modernization of the study program, obtained from informal sources and their inclusion in the self-evaluation report. The involvement of 13 all representatives of the educational process in the adoption of measures to improve quality and their implementation was perceived. In events related to education / awareness of the quality of the study process organized by the institution, it is important to involve all stakeholders involved in this process. The institute also has a good system for monitoring and communicating measures for the development and improvement of the study program, and the institute has good connections with the international environment. A stimulating and inclusive project-research activity for students was introduced. Connecting with foreign higher education teachers enables the efficient transfer of knowledge and the provision of an appropriate research infrastructure abroad. Studentcentered studies are available at the institution. The accessibility of higher education teachers and associates to doctoral students is very commendable. Regarding the criteria for election to the title, it is worth considering setting higher criteria than the minimum required for election to the title, which will certainly have a positive effect on the quality of doctoral studies. We also suggest preparing a monthly e-newsletter for employees with professional and popular content. The institute's positive response to the proposed opportunities confirms its commitment to improving quality on the way to the desired excellence -

Report summary
The institute has established a system for monitoring the quality of the implementation and updating of the study program. The involvement of all key stakeholders in the quality monitoring system was established (collection and analysis of information and communication of findings and measures). Well-structured and meaningful and useful selfevaluation reports are available at the institute’s website. Efforts to continuously improve quality are also visible through the involvement of international experts in the process of updating the study program. The possibility of continuously capturing student opinions / proposals via an online form, mailbox or book of praise and complaints was proposed, as well as establishing a system for documenting proposals for updating the study program from informal sources and including them in the self-evaluation report. In addition to professional staff, students could also be involved in organized forms of awareness-raising (eg Quality Day) to develop an awareness of the importance of the quality of studies. The involvement of all representatives of the educational process in the adoption of measures to improve quality and their implementation was recognized, as well as the development of innovative approaches in the adoption of measures to improve the implementation of the study program. The Institute has a good system for monitoring and communicating measures for the development and improvement of the study program, as well as good connections between the Institute and the international environment enable the Institute to exchange current information that affects the content of the study program. A proposal was made to regulate the records in the curricula. The comprehensive and efficient system of organizing practical student education is commendable; rapid response of professional services and management of the institution to changing conditions during the epidemic; publishing activity of the institute from the point of view of providing appropriate study 17 materials; financial rewarding of clinical mentors or coordinators in the clinical environment; coordinated operation and cooperation between the institute and learning bases in providing / organizing clinical training; and the accessibility of higher education teachers and associates to students. However, the forms of assessment and testing of knowledge must be clearly defined in the curricula and implemented accordingly; it is necessary to encourage an increase in the number of teacher tutors at the institution; update study literature in curricula. For the study program, good material conditions are available for the implementation of the study process; appropriate information is provided to the interested public. A change (which may be of an occasional nature) is proposed in the conduct of annual interviews from the direction of top management to the operational level. In the self-evaluation report, it is also necessary to address the relationships - the course of annual interviews, career development - with employees in professional services. The institution's response showed proactive action and readiness to implement the given opportunities. -

Report summary
After reviewing the material provided to the NAKVIS experts team, examining the additional material that the experts received before and during the virtual visit on May 23 and 24, 2022 at AMEU - ISH, after numerous interviews during these two days and with the help of a virtual walk and a tour through the building of ISH, we realized that the study program is carried out in accordance with the standards set out in point II.2.2 of the Criteria for Accreditation and External Evaluation. The quality of the program’s implementation is guaranteed and that the program is improved, updated and upgraded in relation to the previous accreditation. The institution will inform NAKVIS about the latest changes in the study program (updated and unified curricula) after the next session of the Senate. Both modules were enriched with individual - mainly topical - content and updated resources. The basic feature of the program, which is constantly implemented, is the in-depth interdisciplinarity of each module, the inclusion of new subject contents and the abandonment of old ones, the inclusion of new and different research and development approaches, which only appear on individual micro implementation of subjects within them. Here, special emphasis is always placed on the intersection of both methodological and substantive aspects. In this way, it is possible to empower students to solve scientific problems that arise in different parts of society. This can be determined based on the students' achievements: participation in international conferences, writing and publication of articles, monographs and (not least important) the preparation of high-quality dissertations (doctoral theses). At the same time, we can point out positive reactions from the side of the employers of ISH doctoral students. The quality of the mentoring work is adequately provided - both at the formal level (field of research; appropriate bibliography of the mentor; appropriate procedures for confirming dispositions and acceptance of dissertations) as well as at the implementation level (guidance of students, communication, involvement in individual segments of research processes). The inclusion of external experts in the implementation of individual contents and segments of the study process should also be highlighted, which provides an additional basis for the implementation of the basic red line of the 17 evaluated study program - justifying the reasonableness of connecting critical thought processes between different field of humanities. If necessary, some of individual management bodies (Akademski zbor, Senat) are involved in the process of improvement. Their role is always and sufficiently precisely defined in the annual self-evaluation report. The smaller number of students enables extremely good communication and cooperation between students and teachers, that are experts and researchers at their own fields. External researchers are involved in the study process, and it would make sense to intensify this further, because this enables a significant enrichment of the study program. In addition to their research within the framework of the doctoral topic, students participate in scientific conferences (we highlight the large annual conference organized by AMEU) at home and around the world. ISH publishes the scientific journal Monitor as part of its publishing house, which enables students and doctorands to enter the research sphere by publishing articles. Counseling and assistance to students is provided in several ways: organized, directly by e-mail and on the AMEU - ISH website. The student office keeps all records of student results, issues certificate, publishes information on the website, directs students according to the lecture schedule, and provides technical assistance if necessary. Doctoral students in the Humanities demonstrate good preparation and excellent knowledge during the study process itself and after completing the doctorate. Some of them work successfully abroad at different academic institutions. A conversation with employers and alumni of the Humanities doctoral program revealed to a group of experts in what way and to what extent the knowledge, abilities and skills acquired by the students on the program are useful in practice and how the doctoral students of this study have expanded the reputation of the institution AMEU - ISH. The group of experts unanimously notes that the Humanities study program is implemented in accordance with higher education legislation and that AMEU-ISH implements procedures that ensure the achievement of quality standards and their continuous improvement. Therefore, we propose to NAKVIS the acceptance of the report for the evaluation of the study program of the 3rd level — Humanities. -

Report summary
The training program Logopedagogy is based on the modern guidelines of strategic documents of the European Union and UNESCO, as well as the anticipated needs in the Slovenian educational space. Accordingly, with the study program, they want to upgrade, deepen and update their knowledge in the field of holistic and logopedagogical approach in education. The implementation of the training program Logopedagogy will take place in a combined format (live and e-format). For the needs of distance learning, the proponent has the appropriate technology (interactive whiteboards and SMART screens) and software (Moodle, ZOOM and MS Teams). At the same time, students will have the opportunity to test the theoretically acquired knowledge directly in educational institutions. On the basis of the submitted application and attachments, the group of experts concludes that it would be necessary to upgrade the training program Logopedagogy with the following quality standards: 1. define specific tasks and qualifications of work mentoring for graduates who are not employed in educational institutions and 2. arrange the carrying of the mandatory courses The genesis of the holistic approach in education, Logopedagogical practicum I., The role of the teacher and the student in the logopedagogical approach with the relevant elective area. -

Report summary
The group of experts in the framework of the sample evaluation of the third-level Social Gerontology program of AMEU assesses that the institution implements education in a way that provides appropriate knowledge and competences to doctoral students who complete the study program. The study program is carried out in appropriate spatial conditions and with the engagement of suitable providers. The study program is coherent in terms of content and subjects are vertically and horizontally connected. The manner, form and extent of implementation are appropriate. At the same time, together with AMEU, we have identified some opportunities for improvement. Students have adequate support (department, international office, career center, alumni club, tutoring is organized, study material is available in e-classrooms and the library is well equiped, adaptations for students with special needs). Students praise the individualized study, flexibility and encouragement of on-the-fly learning. The faculty has good material conditions for studying at the faculty headquarters, where the study program Social Gerontology is implemented; modern rooms and ICT equipment, provides technical support for students and university teachers, spacious lecture halls allow maintaining a safe distance between participants in the pedagogical process. They use a hybrid model for teaching. The field of quality assurance is properly systematized. The stakeholders, i.e. students, PhD students and employers express high satisfaction. -

Report summary
The doctoral study program Applied Artificial Intelligence (UUI) proposed by Alma Mater Europæa - European Center, Maribor (AMEU-ECM) addresses the field of applied sciences, which is a rarity in Slovenia. Therefore, the proposer should be especially praised for this step. Moreover, it also managed to include as a staff in the program some really excellent experts. The study program itself roughly consists of three parts: courses in fundamental knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) with the methodology of research work, optional courses and the research work itself. The selection of electives is from the fields of humanities and social sciences and medicine. In spite of the fact that this is an applied science program, it would be highly advisable to increase the amount of mandatory courses in fundamentals of AI to enable greater penetration of applied research. Moreover, if we look at comparable study programs in the world, the proportion of fundamental content is higher in them: Harvard - Applied Artificial Intelligence for Health Care, Saint Luis University - Integrated and Applied Sciences, University of Massachusetts College of Engineering - Engineering and Applied Science etc. The plan for running the program seems adequate. There is a promise of tight and broad connection with a number of institutions which permits students strong involvement directly in the research projects. The involvement is predominantly through the supervisors. In this it seems that the first choice of communication between the student and professor seems to be some kind of e-communication. This is not to be praised as it is more dangerous to decrease the quality of communication and moreover it does not facilitate building the student community that is very important for graduates’ professional life. In reviewing the list of human resources, one can notice a high portion of professors that are not fully employed by the applicant. There are two immediate dangers originating from this fact. The first one is that it is highly likely that they do not do the research work at the applicant directly which results potentially in a more volatile research environment. The second danger is that it is more likely for them to leave the program than in case of full employment. Consequently, we strongly suggest NAKVIS that it regularly checks on the execution of the program and in particular whether the staff that promised to participate 21 indeed participates; and whether the quality of research in AI and AAI does at the applicant in fact improves. A similar check also be performed with respect of collaboration with the institutions enlisted in the application. -
