New European project awarded: SQUAR-ED

SQUAR-ED: our new Erasmus+ project contributing to the Joint European Degree Label (JEDL)

Overview

We are pleased to announce our participation in SQUAR-ED, a new Erasmus+ project that will facilitate the rollout of the Joint European Degree Label (JEDL) and contribute to the long-term development of the European degree initiative.
The project brings together organisations with complementary expertise in quality assurance, recognition and higher education policy. Alongside EQAR, the consortium includes CIMEA and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Youth of the Republic of Slovenia.

Building the JEDL Repository

Within SQUAR-ED, EQAR will build on its Database of External Quality Assurance Results (DEQAR) to develop the JEDL Repository. Te repository will serve as a trusted public source of information on programmes that are awarded the European Degree Label, supporting greater transparency for students, higher education institutions, quality assurance agencies and recognition authorities.

Supporting trust and recognition

Beyond the technical infrastructure, SQUAR-ED aims to simplify the award process for the JEDL, strengthen recognition practices and provide an evidence base to support future policy development. The project seeks to make high-quality joint programmes more visible and easier to recognise across Europe while contributing to the long-term sustainability of the European degree initiative.

EQAR’s contribution builds on its mission to enhance trust and transparency in the European Higher Education Area through quality assurance. By extending DEQAR to support the European Degree Label, the project represents another step towards improving access to reliable information on quality-assured joint programmes across Europe.

We look forward to collaborating with our partners throughout the project and contributing our expertise to this initiative!
