Office-warming Reception

On the 24th of June, EQAR hosted an office-warming reception at its new premises in Brussels to welcome colleagues, partners, and stakeholders to the new space.

Overview

The event brought together approximately 50 guests, including colleagues, members of the Higher Education and Quality Assurance community, and partner organisations. The reception provided an opportunity to celebrate this new chapter for EQAR, to take a moment for heartfelt goodbyes, and to reaffirm our commitment to meaningful quality assurance.

The reception marked an important milestone for EQAR as we settle into our new office; these new premises provide a welcoming environment for collaboration, and they support our steadfast commitment to promote transparency and trust in quality assurance across higher education.

We would like to thank all those who contributed to making the occasion a success, and we look forward to continuing our cooperation with partners and stakeholders from our new office!

Highlights

The evening featured a few meaningful speeches by some key figures within the organisation.

First, our Director, Aleksandar Šušnjar, took the floor to express heartfelt gratitude for Annelies Traas’s seventeen-year commitment to EQAR, and for her steadfast presence in all phases of EQAR’s development – as well as in all the offices in which EQAR found a home throughout the years.

Secondly, Annelies took some time to reflect on those seventeen years, on the most prominent achievements of the organisation all throughout her tenure, and on the people that made this time feel as wholesome as it did.

Thirdly, Stéphane Lauwick, incumbent President of EQAR, looked back on his mandate, along with all its feats and challenges; Bjørn Stensaker, President-elect of EQAR and set to start his mandate on the 1st of July, reaffirmed his commitment to keep building on the foundations laid thus far, and highlighted the importance of institutions at this historical time.
