EQAR Members Dialogue 2026 – Programme
This year’s Members’ Dialogue will focus on the revision of the ESG and the European Approach for QA of Joint Programmes, results of EQAR self-evaluation process, analysis of EQAR Register Committee decisions on ESG compliance of QA agencies, and enhancement of EQAR information provision. The programme will also explore links between external QA and different recent developments and policy goals such as the Joint European Degree Label, automatic recognition of higher education qualifications, digital credentials, micro-credentials, and more.
The event will take place at Comet Louise, Place Stéphanie 20, 1050 Brussels.

| 09:45 | Revision of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the EHEA (ESG) and the European Approach for QA of Joint Programmes (EA)
In this session, the speaker will present the latest (pre-final) version of the ESG revision ahead of the BFUG meeting in November when the document is expected to be adopted. Speakers will also present the latest draft of the EA text and facilitate an opportunity for EQAR members to provide relevant input. |

| 11:00 | Panel: Key findings from the Analysis of EQAR Register Committee decisions (2021-2025) This session will focus on key findings from the analysis of 70 RC decisions on QA agencies’ compliance with the ESG, during the period 2021–2025. This includes comparative analysis of ESG standards, key trends observed in external QA, and most frequent challenges to ESG compliance. Different actors, including governmental members, RC members and agency representatives will be asked to reflect on the findings. |

| Self-evaluation of EQAR (2021-2026): key conclusions
This session will provide an overview of key conclusions from the regular self-evaluation process of EQAR, conducted every 5 years. Participants will be presented with the comprehensive results of the self-evaluation surveys and thematic focus groups, as well as key implications for the future functioning of EQAR. |

| 11:00 | Panel: first Joint European Degree Labels awarded – links with external QA and main lessons learned
This session will focus on practical insights and first lessons learned from the initial examples of awarded Joint European Degree Labels and specifically on the evaluations leading to the award. It will include the perspective of universities who received the label, QA agencies that evaluated them and the European Commission. Specific attention will be given to interlinks between the EDL evaluations and the European Approach methodology. |
| 12:15 | New EQAR project: Supporting Quality Assurance and Recognition of the European Degree (SQUAR-ED)
This session will focus on the new project of EQAR, in collaboration with Italian Recognition Authority (CIMEA), and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Slovenia. The project Supporting Quality Assurance and Recognition of the European Degree (SQUAR-ED) is dedicated to expanding DEQAR to serve as a European degree label repository, facilitating recognition of joint degrees and exploring legal implications of the European degree label. |
