EQAR for employers
EQAR helps employers to identify whether a certain programme, department, faculty or higher education institution has been reviewed by a legitimate quality assurance agency.
EQAR also helps to prevent so-called "degree mills" (bogus institutions awarding degrees without a quality education programme attached to the degree) and "accreditation mills" (bogus quality assurance agencies often used by degree mills to pretend quality and legitimacy) from gaining credibility by providing a list of credible quality assurance agencies that work in line with the agreed European Standards and Guidelines.
Please note: Due to the voluntary nature of EQAR quality assurance agencies are not obliged to apply for inclusion on the Register. An agency that is not included on the Register is therefore not necessarily illegitimate or an accreditation mill. Thus also a study programme or higher education institution that has not been reviewed by a quality assurance agency listed on the Register can yet be of decent quality.
